Fluid dynamics – a section in geology studying movements of various fluids in subsoil with the purpose of identifying patterns and trends of such movements and their geological role.

Basic principles of fluid dynamics:

  • under certain conditions all natural bodies may demonstrate properties of liquids (may flow);
  • the processes of natural fluids mechanical migration follow the laws of fluids mechanics;
  • diastrophic movements and the subsoil heat are the key energy sources for fluid dynamics processes.

The following objectives of fluid dynamics may be stated:

  • identifying fluid dynamics propellants;
  • identifying common mechanisms of fluid migration;
  • forecasting new fluid dynamics processes, developing methods of forecasting geological outcomes of fluid migration.
