Natural gas production is the process of extraction of liquid and gaseous hydrocarbons from the subsurface by process equipment. The term 'natural gas production' is also used as an economic category and is measured in volume and weight units: in cubic meters (natural gas) and grams per cubic meter (gas condensate).
Calculation of natural gas produced is made in absolute figures losses inclusive (so called commercial gas).
Natural gas is extracted by means of gas production wells and a development system is determined by geological conditions of the field and economic calculations. Natural gas production growth is ensured by new fields commissioning, involvement in development of less rich fields, improvement of feedstock production and processing techniques with implementation of a waste-free technology. The scope of natural gas production increases in line with the industry development, technical progress and population growth.
