Directional drilling is a method of well drilling with vertical deviation in the predetermined direction. It is used in drilling for oil, gas and solid mineral resources. Technologically, it is connected with pad drilling, multi-hole drilling and horizontal drilling. Directional drilling is most effectively applied to fields exploration in offshore areas, in marshy and rugged lands and in cases when the drill site construction may violate environmental requirements.
