Bottomhole zone – part of reservoir adjacent to the wellbore, in which reservoir flow characteristics of the productive reservoir change due to well construction, operation and servicing.

Bottomhole zone shape, size and fluid-bearing parameters are changing during the entire period of the well existence. They define hydraulic connection of the well with the reservoir and have significant impact on the well production rate.

There are different methods of bottomhole treatments – acid stimulation or hydraulic fracture to restore/improve its flow characteristics. Combined measures are the most effective.
